UNION OF DEMOCRATIC FORCES CONGRATULATES MUSLIMS ON RAMADAN





The Coordinator of the Union of Democratic Forces in Osun has congratulated the Muslim community on the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fast.

Mr. Adedoyin enjoined Muslim faithfuls to pray for Osun State and Nigeria in these trying times of Covid-19 pandemic disease, global economic downturn, communal conflicts, terrorism and other menace plaguing humanity.

 He said that it is only in an atmosphere of peace and good neighbourliness that meaningful development can take place.

The group further urged Muslims to use the fasting period to build a relationship of friendship and harmony with fellow citizens of other faiths.

Adedoyin prayed to Allah for the continued peace, progress, and the wellbeing of the country.

Group Greet Christians on Easter Celebration




GROUP GREET CHRISTIANS ON EASTER CELEBRATION




The Osun State Coordinator of the Union of Democratic Forces,Mr. Wole Adedoyin has called on Osun State citizens and Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and sacrifice for one another, stating that development and growth can only occur in the state and the nation when all tribes and tongue unite and speak with one voice especially during this period when Coronavirus pandemic is killing thousands of people across the globe.

Mr. Adedoyin who is also the Chairman of the Hope Democratic Party in the state, in his Easter message, said such fundamental values would go a long way in promoting and strengthening the foundation of love, peace and harmony in the country, adding that the season should serve as a reminder to the selflessness, love, sacrifice and tolerance of Jesus Christ throughout His earthly sojourn, his death and his resurrection.

While congratulating Christians for the successful completion of the Lenten season, a period of 40 days of fasting and prayer which culminated in the Easter celebration, Mr. Adedoyin said the Easter period offers Christians and the entire people of Osun State another opportunity for sober reflection, while celebrating with one another the joy of the season.

Adedoyin advised the people of the state to celebrate with moderation, adhere strictly to the rules of the state government, stay at home and enjoy the blessings of Easter with their families.

UDF finally noted that the period is not for eating and drinking alone but to reflect on the past and hope for a better future for themselves and the state.

Group lauds Pastor Adeboye’s Donation of 20m to Osun State Government

GROUP LAUDS PASTOR ADEBOYE’S DONATION OF 20M TO OSUN STATE GOVERNMENT



The Union of Democratic Forces in Osun State has lauded Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye for donating N20 million to Osun State government to support its effort to cushion the effect of coronavirus (COVID-19) on Osun residents. Earlier last week, Osun State Government had named the clergy as a member of its 21-man Food and Relief Committee saddled with the responsibility of fashioning out how to cushion the effect of the lockdown on its citizens.

This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by the Coordinator of the group, Wole Adedoyin in Ilesa on Sunday.

UDF also recalled  that Pastor Enoch Adeboye had in the past donated  8,000 hand sanitizers, 8,000 surgical face masks and 200,000 hand gloves to support the efforts of the Lagos State government in equipping the medical staff with necessary protective gears needed to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, at the Yaba Infectious Diseases Centre.

According to Pastor Adeboye “I acknowledge the efforts of the state government in curbing the spread of the virus in the state and prayed that God would put an end to COVID-19, not just in Nigeria, but in the entire world”.

UDF finally urged other well to do Nigerians of Osun origin to emulate Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye and join hands in the fight against the pandemic virus and in creating Covid-19 free environment for the citizens of the state.

DONATE A MONTH SALARY TO TACKLE COVID-19 IN OSUN STATE – GROUP TELLS OSUN LAWMAKERS



 
The Union of Democratic Forces in Osun State has called on the Osun State House of Assembly members to donate one month of their salary to cushion the effect of coronavirus (COVID-19) on Osun residents.  
Wole Adedoyin, the Coordinator of the group made this known through a press statement issued in Ilesa on Monday.

According to the Statement, “As the government was the first to mobilise with bold measures against the pandemic, so our state’s political world must stand at the forefront of solidarity. We are all equal in the face of this health threat. But in the battle against it, everyone has to offer according to their own strengths. We therefore enjoined our elected Osun house of assembly lawmakers to support the government of Governor Gboyega Oyetola with a month salary. These citizens elected them, they are in the assembly to represent them, without them they would be no where making law”.

As at today, Monday, 6th of April, 2020, Osun ranks third among the states with confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 20 confirmed cases out of the 232 confirmed cases in Nigeria as released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

UDF however lauded their efforts in giving food and relief materials to members of their constituencies but reiterated the need for them to donate their one month salary to assist the Governor in the fight against the pandemic virus in the state.
